I bought a Star Cookie Cutter Tree Kit a couple of years ago but have never used it.

This year I got ambitious and finally made it. I bought pre-made sugar cookies and rolled them out. My mom made the icing because the icing I bought was too runny.

Then my mother and I put the tree together. It was really easy actually . My mom put all the icing on it and I put the little candy specks on with a toothpick. I had so much fun doing this. Maybe I will eventually use my gingerbread house kit my parents gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago.

Love to ALL!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Early Christmas

After a ton of research and consideration my parents and I decided to buy a laptop. I wasn't going to get one from Dell because I had heard a lot of bad stuff about the company. But after doing many, (and I mean MANY) tries of building a laptop at the other manufacturers websites, I found that Dell would give me the best deal and I could get everything I wanted, including Windows XP instead of Vista!

Best of ALL, it's PINK!!!

It matches my cell phone perfectly and it came with a cute little wireless mouse that is also PINK.

I am in the PINK!!!

Pretty impressive since I didn't like pink until a few years ago.

My cousin swears he will never use it since it is pink and I laugh at him, because I don't want anyone else ever touching it.

Now the only decision left is what Skinit I should get . The Pink or Green Butterfly or the Blue Harmony skin. What's your opinion, please post a comment. :)

Bedspread Stories...

My sister gave me a BedSet for Christmas two years ago. It was green and tan. The top picture shows the underside of the bedspread.

As I was wandering through the Richland Washington Wal-Mart I was delighted to find another bedspread that had that same green material but it also had purple, which is my favorite color.

So, tonight I washed all the sheets, changed the bedskirt, and made the bed with my lovely new quilt that goes so well with the other decor. Take a good look cuz that's as made as my bed will be for a long, long time.

Who's That!

There was a little Fire Sprite who got caught in our snowstorm. Here is a picture of the frozen little guy.

He was caught by my cousin Glen.

Harvest Party!!!

We don't celebrate Hallows Eve at our house. We have a Harvest Dinner. We make soup in a pumpkin, roast the seeds, and have all kinds of harvest goodies including spice cake cupcakes!

Here are a couple of pictures from the wonderful and funny evening.

The cow peed on my car!!!

So, I was driving up to Washington on Monday and Tuesday. As I was passing a livestock truck I noticed what looked like smoke coming out of the side of the truck. Just as I passed the truck I realized it was a cow peeing, and my car was anointed liberally with it.

If you ever see a livestock truck on the freeway when it's windy, stay far away from it!!!

SURPRISE!

Yesterday morning I ran upstairs and told my mom that my dad had thrown his back out while helping my grandmother.

My mom hurriedly got dressed and Vickie, my mom, and I all piled into Vickie's car and rushed over to my grandma's. The sight of my dad laying on the living room floor groaning, of course, caused serious concern until there was a chorus of "Surprise!" and "Happy Birthday!" from the 15 people who had been hiding in the back room.

We pulled off a complete surprise party for my mom and she never had a clue. It was Great!!!

After the laughing and comparing notes we all went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. My mom was so happy she glowed the whole day.

The new Jungle Gym

This is the new jungle gym I recently purchased from Amazon/Target. My cats find it interesting, but aren't wild about it yet.

It is very flimsy and when Leo jumped off the top it nearly flipped over.

So far Leo likes it, he is also being possessive. When Myste, (since her surgery he acts like she is a stranger cat, he doesn't like,) came up to investigate he started hissing and wacked her with a paw.

He also likes chewing on it, which is concerning cuz it's something I don't want ruined right away.

The jury is still out on suitabilty, sturdiness, and likeability.

Myste's Surgery

So we have our Myste back but she has been spayed and her claws removed. You can't see it very well, but they shaved her in weird patches on her neck, her left paw and her side, as well as her belly. The veterinary staff said she was very well behaved and a good kitty. I have noticed she has been very in need of affection since she came back. I think she was lonely.

The odd thing is, she will disappear and we can't find her. Sunday we had everyone in the house downstairs looking for her and we never did because after making a lot of noise she finally came out of Glen's room.

Eventually we found her hiding spot in a place we thought impossible for her to get to. It's in a box covered with Glen's guitar case and a basketball blocking part of the box. But she is in there quite frequently.

Dreams

So I had the third in a set of weird dreams. All of the dreams have the same elements.
  • I was with my family and we were preparing for a long journey.
  • We didn't have a lot of time to get ready, one or two days.
  • I was rushing around trying to do something that seemed really important.
  • Whatever I was rushing around doing, was inconsequential and silly.
  • The rushing around made me and everyone else late, which was bad.
The items I was looking for were: Sandals, Nail Polish, and Jewelry.

So, the question is, since this is the third one, does it mean something?

Sleeping Positions

The correct posture in taking a cat nap.

Also, stretching out an arm or leg makes the sleeping position that much more comfortable.

You should try it sometime!

Ezri, my niece, just turned 8. Here's a video from my cell phone of her blowing out her candles.

Gonna Walk it all away!

I'm hoping to start a new passion: Walking!

So, my questions are...
  • How does one make walking a Passion?
  • How does one begin?
  • What is the most motivating thing to continue walking?
  • How can I convince myself to walk every day, and like it?
If you have any answers to these questions, please feel free to leave a comment or e-mail me.

Thanks.

Cleaning out the Garage.

As the fathers and mothers day gift this year some of my siblings got together today and helped us clean out our garage. Lorilea just about collapsed from anxiety, David got wacked on the head, and Daddy swung from the rafters. It was exhausting but a lot got done.

Unfortunately it didn't all get done. Let me list the things that did:
  • A plan for the general location of things was drawn up.
  • The derelict car went south to be repaired.
  • The freezer was moved next to the garage door.
  • The dehydrator and shelving was rearranged.
  • The stored water supply was moved.
  • The hole in the garage ceiling was sheet-rocked over.
  • Items were sent to good-will. (D.I.)
  • Rotting wood thrown away.
  • Patio spiffed up.
It will be so nice when it's all done. Much more organized hopefully.

I'll write more later.

Zion's National Park

Artwork

While talking to my friend Erin she mentioned she was making a costume on the theme of our favorite online game Guild Wars. I was so excited because when I was in High school and even after one of my passions was to sketch dresses, be they outlandish or not. Here is a sample of some of the ones I thought Erin might like.

The Gift of Flowers

What do the gift of flowers mean?
A friend sent me a bouquet of flowers recently and I was delighted. I love roses and these were particularly gorgeous ones. Is there an obligation that comes with flowers?

Here kitty, kitty, kitty!

So my little troublemaker, Myste (Gray Cat), is in heat.

So....

My Dad went and borrowed a friend's male cat. Unfortunately, he seems more interested in fighting with Leo (Orange Cat), who is locked in my room.

I don't have any clue, cuz poor Myste is obviously interested, and he sits there and ignores her.

How do I help along this supposed romance before it is too late?

Roses and our Garden.

The daffodils are out already. My dad calls them Daffy-down-dillies.

My dad and I went and picked out roses for our front garden yesterday. I chose a white one with blush edging (Kordes Perfecta), and a dark red one (O. L. Weeks), and my dad chose a brilliant white one (Anastasia). He ripped out the bushes which were overcrowding everything to replace them with the roses. We already have a peace rose in there as well. So I will have my fill of roses this year, especially since they are by my bedroom window.

The Alyssum will probably take over our garden again this year. I'm not sure I like alyssum anymore. It smells really good if I get a stray whiff now and then, but all the time is a little overwhelming. I remember when I first smelled Alyssum, I was up at school in Logan and I walked by the school library, there was whole plot full and a light breeze brought this heavenly smell to me.

I also love a weed, it is part of the mustard family named Moricandia. It only grows in early spring and usually in disturbed earth. It smells wonderful, my cat used to go roll around in it and then he would come and rub against my face and I would smell those flowers and sun on his fur. It was wonderful!

GameTap

Have you ever longed to play those old games you used to play when you were a kid? Well there is hope! Gametap, which I have just discovered, has a lot of those old games and you can play them anytime, you just have to pay a monthly subscription fee. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue with my subscription and will have to wait til I have more money to play some more. Until then, anyone that reads this ought to try it out, just for fun.

Being Silly

While filing I found my old Halloween makeup and these wonderful eyelashes, so I went and dressed myself up so I could take some pictures. My hair was fairly wild and I really messed it up some more for the drama. I think I look good with long eyelashes. What do you think?

Filing

For tha last 4 years I have been doing something that doesn't create happiness in my life. Instead of filing everything, I have been stuffing everything in boxes, either because it's on my countertop or computer desk. I then put those boxes in my closet and close the door.

I finally got the courage to open that door and take everything out. I emptied at least 10 boxes and filled up 3 Charity boxes. Now I have 4 boxes of papers that need to be sorted and filed. Thank goodness it's almost over! :)

St. Patty's day

For St. Patrick's Day we invited our friend named Steve and his family to come have dinner with us. My dad grilled Chicken and hotdogs, Vickie made a Veggie tray and a green salad, and I made Pasta Tuna Salad. Steve and his wife Kathi brought Sierra Mist and Lime sherbet for dessert.

After dinner Glen, Steve, and his son Tyson all played Chess while my dad watched. The girls, which included my mom, Vickie, Kathi and I all sat in the living room and talked and played with the kids. The kids, Grace and Ethan played Marble Magic and some pull apart dogs. Then they drew on the marker board. My mother was concerned with such little kids about the white carpet so we put a big blue towel under him. When the kids started wanting the same marker, we switched to reading books.

About 9:30 we reluctantly parted with plans for a barbecue at Steve and Kathi's.

Overall it was a good St. Patricks Day!
